Brad Sklencar is a Member in the firm’s San Antonio office. Mr. Sklencar has a broad-based civil litigation practice prosecuting and defending all types of commercial contract, transaction, and insurance defense disputes involving banking law, real property law, business torts, construction, consumer litigation, employment matters, professional negligence, attorney discipline and malpractice defense, insurance defense, personal injury, product liability, premises liability, environmental issues, international law and parties, and intellectual property. Mr. Sklencar has extensive experience in high profile complex case litigation matters involving international parties, property, and conflicts of laws. Mr. Sklencar has many years of experience in professional liability litigation for attorneys, architects, and engineers, and other licensed professionals and defending them before licensing boards and agencies. He has an established employment law practice which includes defending and prosecuting civil suits involving wrongful termination, harassment, age, race, or gender discrimination under the State and Federal civil rights statutes; administrative claim experience representing public and private employers and individual claimants before the NLRB, EEOC and TWC on labor practices, employment disputes, wage claims, worker’s compensation claims, and discrimination claims. Mr. Sklencar has extensive Insurance Defense litigation experience defending general liability claims, intellectual property claims, premises claims, product liability claims, personal injury claims, and first party bad faith practices, claim coverage, agent misrepresentation, life policy coverage and beneficiary litigation. He also has handled acute care institution defense, Miller Act surety litigation, and Employee Welfare Benefit Plan litigation under 29 U.S.C. § 1000 et. seq. (ERISA). Mr. Sklencar has an established Construction Law practice including representing design professionals, contractors and subcontractors on public and private projects, and commercial and residential projects, in contract disputes, construction defect litigation, and negligence actions together with corresponding surety litigation. He also has appellate experience in both state and federal appellate courts.
